Practical guide
A manual duration list is the whole input
YouTubePlaylistLength.xyz has one honest starting point: the visible duration of each video you choose to include. Copy or type one time per line, using SS, MM:SS, or HH:MM:SS. The browser checks every line, marks entries that do not match the format, counts valid and invalid rows, and adds the valid seconds. There is no playlist URL field because the launch product does not retrieve playlists.
That distinction belongs above the fold. The site does not call the YouTube API, open a private list, scan thumbnails, download media, inspect audio, or infer unavailable videos. It never asks a viewer to sign in. Manual transcription takes a little attention, but it makes the input visible and keeps the queue out of a remote application workflow.
Three accepted time shapes
Short videos can be entered as seconds: 45 means forty-five seconds. The MM:SS shape handles entries such as 12:08. The HH:MM:SS shape handles long material such as 1:03:20. Spaces around a line can be trimmed, while internal letters, URLs, negative values, and extra separators are invalid.
The parser treats the rightmost field as seconds. In colon formats, seconds must be from 00 through 59. In the three-field format, minutes must also be from 00 through 59. A plain 90 remains valid seconds and normalizes to 1:30. These rules remove ambiguity without pretending that a pasted title or link contains a duration.
For example, a manual list containing 08:40, 12:15, 45, 1:02:10, and 9:75 has four valid rows and one invalid row. The valid rows equal 520, 735, 45, and 3,730 seconds. Their sum is 5,030 seconds, which formats as 1:23:50. The invalid 9:75 is excluded because 75 cannot occupy the seconds field in MM:SS.
Results that show their work
The core result displays valid video count, invalid-line count, 1× total duration, total seconds, and a plain formula using the normalized entries. If a mistake appears, the user can return to the numbered line rather than guessing which value changed the total. A copy action produces a text summary without including titles, URLs, or anything the user did not enter.
Invalid rows do not disappear. They remain visible and are not silently converted. A result may be shown when at least one line is valid, but it must state that excluded lines keep the total incomplete. When every nonblank line is invalid, the tool shows field guidance instead of a zero that could be misread as a finished playlist.
Choose the next calculation after the total
Once the 1× total is trusted, a viewer can answer a narrower planning question. The playback-speed tool compares one known total across chosen speeds. The remaining-time tool combines completed videos with a position inside the current video. The study scheduler divides a known workload across available days and a daily ceiling. The finish-date route projects across selected watch days rather than assuming every calendar day is available.
Other pages keep different decisions separate. Grouped sums preserve module subtotals. The break planner alternates watch blocks and rest intervals. Daily goals work backward from a deadline. Progress uses completed duration rather than video count, so a short clip and a long lecture do not carry identical weight.
A snapshot, not a live playlist fact
The total describes the lines present at calculation time. A playlist can later gain or lose videos; an uploader can replace, edit, privatize, or remove material; a viewer can change the intended subset. The site does not monitor any of those changes. Save a dated summary outside the tool if the snapshot matters, and repeat the manual check when the list changes.
Displayed time can also differ from experienced time. Advertisements, buffering, pauses, notes, skips, speed controls, and platform behavior can alter the clock. The 1× sum is an arithmetic baseline, not a promise about a session. Add study pauses and other real-time blocks with the appropriate planner.
Local processing and independent identity
All launch calculations run in ephemeral page memory. Duration lines are not uploaded, added to a database, connected to an account, or sent to an analytics vendor. Reset clears the current working state, and closing the page ends the defined session. Copying a result creates a record under the user’s control.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a playlist URL?
No. Paste only visible duration values, one per line. URL retrieval and API access are not launch features.
What happens to an invalid line?
It stays numbered and visible, is excluded from the sum, and increases the invalid count until corrected or removed.
Does 90 mean ninety seconds?
Yes. Plain integers use the SS form and are normalized in the result.
Is the list saved for later?
No. The launch workflow has no persistent history. Copy a dated summary yourself if you need one.
Paste times, then inspect the count
Open the manual duration calculator, add a small test list, and compare the valid-video count with the source before relying on the total. The number is useful because every included second can be traced to a line you can see.
